| Artist's Biography |
CB Hume, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, mostly self taught, studied under the tutelage of Margaret Garland
and Marty Swan --both professional artists. Hume also attended the New Orleans Academy of Art to hone his skills
as an oil painter. Oil painting is his first love but he is fluent in watercolor, acrylic, charcoal, and pastel. And his
newest medium, coffee.
Bruce is an active member of the Hammond Art Guild, Slidell Art League, St Charles Art Guild, and the New Orleans
Art Association. And has paintings in Private and Corporate Collections Internationally and in many states.
Bruce loves to share his passion for art with others and has chaired The Slidell Art League’s OPTA (Our Part Thru
Art) Program. This program brings art to those less fortunate, i.e. Nursing Homes, Rehab Centers, and those home
bound; anywhere that people would not normally have access to art or have the opportunity to partake in the
creative process. He became involved with art while recuperating from major surgery, and volunteered his services
for OPTA.
Bruce also shares his knowledge and love for the Arts through workshops and Art Demos. He loves teaching any
age group, as he believes there is an "Artist" in everyone.
